New Diaries from Whitelines®

Posted by & filed under Front, News.

In Sweden new dia[drupalimg id=1936 title= desc= link=node align=right width=199 height=300]ries are now available in stores. Among them you can find a gold-coloured diary for your golden year 2011.  Or maybe you prefer a sweet black fake leather cover with a design from Sandqvist, a cool Swedish designer of accessories, sold together with our bright orange and blue wire diaries. Or a white with Grandert design, or red, or standard black, or … Anyway, we hope you will find your own favourite.

Happy 2011!

Does anyone know if the hard bound or perfect bound Whitelines lay flat?

Also, are the wires on the Hard Wire made out of the same material as the regular Wire or are they more sturdy?

I have the Wire notebook right now and I love it but I would like something a little bit sturdier ^_^.

Whitelines manifesto: Don’t just do it.

[drupalimg id=1917 title= desc= link=none align=left width=420 height=411]

You entered this world as a creative genius.
Curious. Playful. Somewhat obstinate.
But over the years society shaped you into an obedient, well-mannered citizen. Your questions became nicer, the decisions safer, and the answers more certain.
We’re here to reverse the trip.
We want to uncage your imagination. And dare we say, make every single person on this planet one percent more creative.
Does this sound a bit naive? If not a little overambitious? We agree. Our vision is easy to criticise, ridicule and whisk off. But we feel it’s a small price to pay in order to encourage your independency and nurture your brainchildren.
It’s not an easy task. It’s a never-ending battle.

Because the world is full to the brim of faceless bureaucrats and greedy bullyboys, waiting to kill your ideas with just a flick of the wrist.
So whatever you do, don’t just do it. Put your heart and soul into it.

Love it.

Hate it.

Turn it up-side-down.

Turn it inside-out.

Bend it.

Whitelines Limited Edition – released in Sweden

In collaboration with the Anton Grandert we have made this limited edition with intent to let our manifesto blossom. And – off course – inspire you!

The three illustrated quotes are:

“The creative person is both more primitive and more cultivated, more destructive, a lot madder and a lot saner, than the average person.”

“I think the world really boils down to two types of people – those who see shapes in cloud formations, and those who just see clouds.”

“To fear love is to fear life and those who fear life are already three part dead.”

In store now!

Love these notebooks-I use the hard bound as a journal.  Just a suggestion-I saw in the custom items that one of them had an elastic band closure, like Moleskine.  I think it would be great if the regular notebooks had elastic bands.

Filofax paper?

I’m using a snazzy Filofax-style book for my notes, and would love to fill it with Whitelines paper. Are you planning anything like loose sheets, 95x170mm, with six prepunched holes?

Awesome apps for Whitelines paper

Posted by & filed under News.

My name is August Schelin, I’m 15 years old and I’m a “trainee” at Whitelines.
I was given the task of finding cool apps that can be used with whitelines. I’ve tried out a number of useful applications that go hand in hand with Whitelines paper and i found two apps which I especially liked; Photogene and Photoforge. These apps leave you with a crisp and clear picture or text that leaves no trace of the lines, perfect for transferring a handwritten or drawn document to your computer.
This is the original picture I edited (taken with my iPhone).

Editing with Photogene

A simple, yet powerful application that gives you an array of tools to use including, of course, the normal ones like brightness/contrast, levels and saturation. Personally I thought this app was very easy to use and simple but effective.

· Crop/rotate image as you like.
· Edit exposure (see picture)
· Edit contrast (see picture)
· Adjust levels (see picture)

[drupalimg id=1885 title= desc= link=none align=left width=167 height=250]

The result:

[drupalimg id=1885 title= desc= link=none align=left width=167 height=250]

Conclusion: This app was very affordable, at only 15 SEK or $1.99, had a user-friendly interface and good tools. In a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being totally pointless and 10 being totally awesome I’d rate this app with a strong 8,1.
